Fayette Model Aviators Living the dream! |

President’s Corner:
The new field has grass coming up and looking really well. It’s still a little rough, but that will get better in time. Andy came out to the field with his John Deer and repaired our driveway, replaced the water hydrant that was placed in the wrong spot, and smoothed over the ruts in the landing strip overrun area. The new landing strip is starting to take shape with a new stand of Kentucky Blue grass doing really well. We now have a port-a-potty located at the field and will be in place until the 1st of November with the help of Tim Lohr (President of Clinton Model Aviators) out of Wilmington, OH. I was able to get a special deal for the port-a-potty for $50.00 per month from J&K Rentals out of Sabina, OH. Dan Rife donated the 1st month rental to the club. I would like for all our members dig into your spare change you have laying around the house and help the club make the next 3 payments to J&K. Your donations to the club would be a great help in keeping our dues @ the current rate of $30.00 per year. FMA has also gained 4 new members last week. 7 members from Clinton Model Aviators (www.clintonmodelaviators.com) came down to fly our field last week and after a big day of fun I asked them what they thought of what we had created and all the responses’ were very positive. We do have a problem with a few trees as the south end of the parking lot, and we need a few volunteers with chainsaws to come out and help correct the problem. So, if you have a chain saw or if you could just come out and help remove those pesky trees, please let me know so I can schedule a work day at the field. If everyone could sign up for a few hours of work it would take about only 4 or 5 hours to get rid of those plane eating trees. Let me know via e-mail. As reported earlier, FMA has decreased its membership rates; see our Documents page for details.
Thank You, Robert “Hippie” Bishop Keep watching the website for updates of all club activity. |
